Tourism Economic Development Organizations align to form Iowa Destination Marketing Alliance -- Iowa group represents dozens of statewide Convention & Visitor Bureaus, Chambers of Commerce, and Destination Marketing Organizations
IOWA – Dozens of statewide, non-profit, economic development organizations recently announced the formation of the Iowa Destination Marketing Alliance (IDMA). The Alliance is an effort to unify and streamline legislative and general advocacy efforts while also fostering growth through collaboration of the like-mind organizations.
The Iowa Destination Marketing Alliance has completed its Strategic Plan and will focus on four key areas in 2011/2012. That plan can be found on the Alliance’s website, www.iowadma.com which was also launched as part of the announcement. The site will be used for members to share data, marketing collateral, and general communications.
The Iowa Destination Marketing Alliance is a proud and strong supporter of the Iowa Office of Tourism. Tourism funding in Iowa ranks 48th in the nation and IDMA will work diligently alongside this office to better advocate and demonstrate the ROI this important economic development segment has for the benefit of all Iowans. More information on this data and/or the formation of IDMA can be found by contacting any of the above contacts or visiting the website. |
